If you didn’t know, Christian Linke recently said that they weren’t intending to make Jayce and Viktor romantic but just to show a really close relationship between men which they believe is underrepresented in media.
Of course, as expected, antis have taken this as a way to shut down gay interpretations and bring up how “romanticising a relationship that is meant to be brotherly demeans it”. It is definitely important to have relationships that depict multiple forms of love and yes at its core we can all agree that Jayce and Viktor are two men who love each other.
I believe that despite what Christian Linke says, the way one chooses to interpret that love ultimately falls on the viewer, as their relationship/love can resonate with people in many different ways.
I personally view Jayvik to be partners, friends and lovers because it resonates with me as a queer fan. I personally see a lot of queercoding in the way they were written and that makes it hard for me to perceive them as not having a romantic love.
For example:
Viktor being shown to take Mel’s place in many scenes like Jayce hallucinating him with after Mel and he’s wearing her black eyeshadow.
Mel x Jayce sex scene overlaps with the scene of Viktor becoming entwined with the Hexcore in a way that it makes it difficult for you to even focus on Mel and Jayce.
Amanda mentioning that Viktor was projecting his relationship with Jayce onto Sky this season - the whole science-y bond.
Viktor making the “this is not the bedroom” joke when Mel catches him and Jayce trying to sneak into the lab.
This all resonates with me as queer comphet and their love for each other being superior to that of their romantic interests also feels very queer for me.
And I have the right to interpret them in that way. I respect the way Christian Link interprets them and has shown to depict them but I personally do not see their relationship in the same way and I believe characters are just as much as the audience’s as they are the creators so my interpretation is also valid.
(Also, creators genuinely don’t always agree with each other and they differ in opinions when it comes to interpretations of characters/relations whilst Christian Linke may not see their love as romantic. I believe there might be other creators who do which could explain some of the ambiguity in their scenes).
Also, to the antis, queer love is also a valid form of love, it can exist with/without physical intimacy and still be queer.
Perceiving Jayvik as queer does not demean their love for each other at all. Perceiving them as having a platonic or brotherly bond isn’t wrong either. All forms of love are pure. Queer or not. Jayce and Viktor’s love for each other is pure and can be seen no matter how you interpret it.
The beauty of a story or a piece of art is enabling the perceived to interpret it in a way it resonates with them and it may not be what the creator intended and it may not be what resonates with you but it is still a valid interpretation.
That is to say I also respect platonic readings of their relationship despite not personally seeing it because you have the right to interpret them in the way you want to. And I am asking you to do the same for me and give me the right to interpret them in the way I want to.
#besides there is also the fact that queer love is underrepresented and honestly this where I disagree with christian linke#there is plenty of male relationships with brotherly and platonic bonds in media#more proof to why queer jayvik doesn’t demean anything#but why should it demean their love either way#like I said no matter in what form#love is love#(yes sorry I had to put that quote in here)#arcane#arcane spoilers#arcane season 2#jayce talis#viktor#viktor arcane#jayce x viktor#jayvik#gay#queer representation

look this site really is awful for ppl with OCD so i just wanna reassure anyone that you are not Tainted Forever for consuming a piece of media with questionable content. the fact that youre able to recognize it speaks to your critical thinking skills, which is good, certain depictions should be critiqued. but you dont need to ruminate on it to the point where you begin to feel guilty for simply witnessing gross or creepy writing choices. you dont have to vindicate yourself to the fictional tumblr discourser inside your head, saying that youre now a bad person bc you watched the wrong anime. your actual response to it still matters of course, but thats that and this is this. just seeing it is neutral, you didnt commit a thought crime. its literally fine.
IF YOU ARE USING THIS POST TO ONLY FURTHER YOUR STUPID PEDANTIC BLACK-AND-WHITE DISCOURSE TO GET A "GOCHA" OVER THE OTHER SIDE YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. DON'T USE OUR DISORDER TO VINDICATE YOUR BEHAVIOR. THOUGHT CRIMES ARENT REAL BUT ACTIONS STILL MATTER. PEOPLE WITH OCD ARE CAPABLE OF THINKING CRITICALLY ABOUT OUR ACTIONS AND RESPONSES, EVEN WITH INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS AND RUMINATIONS. TREATING US AS IF WE CANNOT, ONLY TO FORCE US TO USE YOUR STRINGENT UNNUANCED DISCOURSE OPINIONS ABOUT "PURITY CULTURE" (TRIGGERING TO THOSE WITH OCD) AS THE ONLY REASONABLE GUIDE DOES MORE TO EXACERBATE OUR OBSESSIONS THAN HELP US. YOU ARE THE ISSUE AS WELL. YOU ARE ALSO THE TUMBLR DISCOURSER INSIDE OUR HEADS. DO NOT USE US FOR YOUR DISCOURSE. WE ARE PEOPLE, NOT HYPOTHETICALS TO USE TO EXPLAIN IF YOUR FROZEN INCEST FANFICTION IS OKAY OR NOT. TREATING US AS IF WE CANNOT AUTONOMOUSLY HAVE OUR OWN OPINIONS ON WHEN MEDIA IS TANGIBLY HARMFUL IS ABLEIST. FORCING US TO ABIDE BY YOUR IN-GROUP'S SET OF UNEQUIVOCAL MORALS IS ABLEIST. ACTING AS THOUGH THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR US IS MINDLESS MEDIA CONSUMPTION IN WHICH "EVERY DEPICTION OF XYZ, NO MATTER HOW POORLY DONE OR EXPLOITATIVE, IS ALWAYS OKAY AND IF YOU DISAGREE YOURE ACTUALLY AN EVIL 'ANTI'" IS ABLEIST. THOSE ARE THE SAME BLACK-AND-WHITE MORALS THAT SEND US INTO OBSESSIVE SPIKES, BUT FLIPPED. A SET OF MORALS IN WHICH QUESTIONING THE IMPACT OF A PIECE OF WORK MAKES YOU AN "EVIL CONSERVATIVE PURITAN "ANTI"" DOES NOT HELP MORAL OCD.
YOU ARE THE DAMN TUMBLR DISCOUERSERS MAKING THIS SHIT WORSE FOR US! YOURE THE EXACT SAME BUT WITH FLIPPED BUZZWORDS! YOU'RE MISSING THE WHOLE DAMN POINT!
#the fictional tumblr discourser inside your head is like the opposite of critical thinking its just extremes#blocking that helps you form better thoughts and come to a better understanding of why said content can be harmful in said depiction etc et#and to be clear shutting off all critical thoughts is not the solution either bc then you end up with.... Those People#the ones who jack off to lolicon on ao3 and think its the same artistically as lolita x_x#this post is not a vindication for that sort of thing. or say like actively supporting an openly bigoted series or author#those are different things because they are actual choices and actions. you chose to respond that way#thats what i mean when i say your actual response still matters. as in your actions surrounding it

Bungou Stray Dogs: Dead Apple and how “ability users” (opposite to “normal people”) learning to accept themselves through the acceptance of their own abilities is a queer metaphor of acceptance of own's sexual orientation and gender: an essay by me
#bsd#bungou stray dogs#About: Dead Apple. Watched this a while ago with a friend and it was a lot of fun!!!#If you're reading this: thank you so much for hanging out with me I had such a good time (ㅅ´ ˘ )♡#Next to general considerations: wow they were right that Bungou Stray Dogs movie sure can Bungou Stray Dogs#It's always nice to see the detailed animation and elaborate backgrounds of movies. The animation quality compared to the manga is–#definitely noticeable and it's nice to see. That said... I still like the season 2 art style more? And I'm speaking strictly of art style.#The s2 one looks more soft and smooth while the da one is so much more rough.#The plot is... Very bsd-esque I don't think there's anything to add.#In my opinion Kyouka's arc is the one that turned out best tbh. I really like her narrative development and personal growth in this movie.#I like the complexity of her state of mind. how full of contradiction she is. I especially appreciate the recurring small changes of–#expression that indicate how she thinks differently from Atsushi even if she doesn't voice them. The fight between her cynicism and her–#kind nature. It's all very interesting.#Atsushi's development is interesting too. Although all the open questions about his ability we still have kind of leave me frustrated#I don't feel very strongly about Akutagawa in this movie? I mean‚ he's there. The ss/kk scenes are always great and in character and a joy–#to witness no matter what they do. He just doesn't shine particularly? Or at least personally I dont find the “proving my strength against–#myself” narrative arc to be particularly interesting. Imo it was a lot better flashed out in the da stage play! With the complexity that–#the dialogues with Chuuya added to the character. Dazai attacking him. And especially Aktgw understanding that Rashomon wasn't testing Aktg#but rather only expressing that unstoppable rage that is also Aktgw's own. About that I checked out the play and I really liked it!!#I only watched highlights (aka: ss/kk and chuu/aku scenes) but there's some stuff I really like. I like the conflict between Aktgw and–#Chuuya and how Chuuya messes up with Aktgw at first maliciously and then amiably. It's interesting how Atsushi himself observes that Kyouka#and Akutagawa get along. And especially the sskk almost-handholding and Atsushi saying Akutagawa has a nice profile were cute akjdhbsawhjb#Next. Da really is shipping paradise (﹏╥) Sorry but... It is. oda/zai. daz/atsu. ss/kk. s/kk. fuku/mori. chuu/aku. It really has everythin#and the moments are so good!!!! What else. Wish we'd see more of Tsujimura. And Christie. And women in general tbh.#Also‚‚‚‚‚ Atsushi's tiger form in this movie is ATROCIOUS. I've said it before but it's crazy how a franchises that relies so heavily on–#fanservice came up with something this hideous. Man the movie overall was pretty but Atsushi sure wasn't. Firmly stand by the belief–#that only Akutagawa would find that form attractive.#Oh last note. honestly if we're ready to accept a movie where an antidote has effect AFTER the person has effectively died then we really–#can't complain about any kind of insanity the manga brings up#random rambles

link to the post I accidentally wound up prattling endlessly about in the tags 💀
#doctor who#tenth doctor#martha jones#david tennant#freema agyeman#(good god. without even meaning to I went into 'psycho stream of consciousness tagging' mode. whoops)#always thinking of that one post#where OP mentions how the writing tries to make it seem like Ten looked right through Martha/etc#which is a good concept for demonstrating his grief. but also isnt what we really see throughout S3#(not saying he wasn't a grieving MESS because he was. but he's a multi-faceted character and he can grieve AND value Martha simultaneously)#but we see such fierce protective instinct+trust; a bond between them that obviously isn't some one-sided affair#+ his clear intent to impress her/be admired and respected by her (apropos the post that inspired this sentiment)#but RTD obviously isn't the most infallible of writers#*cough* [list of reasons I cut down b/c long] *cough*#He can make Martha say “he's not seeing me/he doesn't look at me” but then you just watch with your eyes and you get a different story#It's like the opposite of when Moffat tries to make you believe someone is super important through bold claims without showing his work#instead RTD tries to make you believe Ten is functionally blind to Martha's existence while showing numerous examples of the contrary#then bring in the novels+myspace blog+cartoon that he all signed off on. Which tie together to create a canon backdrop#basically I said all of that to say this—#it's the whole reason I had to make this blog to get this sort of stuff off my chest (even if it's just for me sometimes)—#Ten not only SAW Martha—he trusted+respected+enjoyed+adored her. And it's a good thing#it doesn't cheapen his grief. I feel like people must think it does which is why I constantly see bad unnecessary takes about them#it just means that Martha was SO important to him and it's ok. they had a killer friendship outside the unrequited minutiae and it's ok#there's even a comic where 'someone' makes him believe she's Martha and he makes her change her appearance because “it's still too raw”#Just saying you don't say that sort of thing about someone whose existence you're all blasé about#Martha already gets fucked by the narrative in enough ways without people totally missing her significance in the Doctor's life#you don't have to ship them to appreciate them on a deeper level#anyway. fuck. if you actually read all of these then I'm so sorry#creating this blog has taught me that there are only like two people who feel the same way about tenmartha matters and it’s fine 😂#but if I didn’t give myself an outlet it would probably form a tumor SO there we are then

Absolutely fascinated by Laudna’s “she has a debt to pay. She owes me her life like she took mine.”
This isn’t just a “I’m worth nothing so might as well smoke em if I got em” mindset with Delilah. It’s some of that, but it’s not the whole picture.
This is “might as well smoke em if I got em, and if this is the end of me god damn it I am taking this bitch with me.”
#I don’t even think this is a development#this desire for vengeance against Delilah#I feel like it’s always been there in some way shape or form#no matter how many times Laudna has insisted that Delilah isn’t that bad or is useful#and no matter how many times we’ve seen Matt play Delilah as ultimately bored and along for the ride#this pointed Your Days Are Numbered anger that she is now freely expressing is FASCINATING#and now that I think of it#Imogen’s ‘I’ll miss our little cottage though’#had a very quick turnaround in potentially changing Laudna’s mind about her own fate#minutes before this conversation#laudna was just saying ‘maybe this should be the end of me’#and now she’s entertaining the idea of being around to kill Delilah after she’s made use of her#I think what Imogen said was the most brutally efficient and effective wake-up call she could have possibly delivered#the look of absolute devastation on Laudna’s face#I’ve never seen Laudna/Marisha crumble so absolutely in a scene#Imogen/laura broke Laudna in the most loving way possible#she also broke Marisha#and me#and my insides#and my brain#critical role#imodna#critical role spoilers#cr spoilers

Getting closer, getting really close now I swear (Patreon)
#Doodles#Just Desserts#Villainsona#True Villainy AU#Just ignore how many times I've said that up to this point lol - I'm serious this time!#I always feel so bad designing TVAU outfits because Charm is always so miserable as a model haha#Could this be a contributing factor as to why it's taken so long?? No I enjoy drawing her like that lol#Made some design notes about the important elements of what I want for her True Villain look - more than just ''Her but Kaiein influence''#I'd still really like a nod to dragon scales of some kind but honestly her classic design is more that#Always going on about her spider theming how to make it dragony! It's the one thing I'm still hung up on lol#As for the rest I think it's Really getting close :) I got to actually turn her little ''shawl'' - I always knew it was Kaiein-related -#Into something that properly mimics his shape! It's all controlled by her tho it's not a part of his body - just magic-infused matter#Made to look like him so there's still that creep factor but it's more her body than his - she can control its shape :D#And I got to keep the jewels! Yesss - made it a motif! Now it's also on her hips and knees to break up her visual space yes very good#It's drips :) Y'know - like ink :) Finally figured that one out lol good job setting up my own symbolism me#And then some elegant drapey bits to match her ''shawl'' and continue to break up her space!! Yes! Good!!#I still haven't decided on a colour palette I think black and white is too obvious and too Kaiein but hmmm - she has a lot of colours#Lots of options to pick from but which is the Correct one - her hair would stay pink so maybe some of her pinks or purples#I'll play with some digital swatches later :)#I'm also so glad I could implement the hood design from one of the scrapped outfits ah <3 I love her in a hood she's so cute#I'm rather pleased with the way the spider web design breaks up her form as well - it's more subdued than the full bottom/shoes stripes but#It's also not very clear here lol the long ones that all the way down to her feet are the third from the center ignore that second one#The second lines out from the center host her wings! Very important!#Kinda reminds me of my holosona in a way actually :0 They /are/ both Evil-aligned hmmmm#All the more reason to colour palette! Differentiate the colours in my head#Really do feel like I'm approaching it now fdjsklafd getting close now!!

has it ever occurred to anyone that the black and white thinking of anti-/pro- language is a trauma response and we all probably need therapy? and like, life is not actually black and white almost ever??? because human beings are complicated? and forcing yourself to pick a side and draw a line in the sand all the time is probably really bad for our mental health collectively?
#I spent 2 1/2 years working on dealing with my black-and-white thinking with my therapist#Only to come on here and for that to be The Thing We Are All Doing#I don’t know it just doesn’t hit right#has someone smarter than me already said this?#like i don’t think it’s helpful? but maybe i’m missing something#this is not about any specific pro or anti thing#but i will say that i’m talking mostly about social things#not like… law making things#laws have genuine impact and standing for or against a policy makes sense when that’s the only choice on the table#(like to be for or against a bill in its current form)#but when there isn’t a bill specifically being discussed it’s much more productive to state what your policies are#because two pro-choice people might have radically different views of that that means#and for the sake of passing a law that doesn’t matter#but when it comes to actually legislating… it does#idk. is this something? am i about to have the internet cops called on me?

finally watching channel zero and i immediately have so many thoughts in the first ten minutes
#random thoughts#candle cove#okay so first: the fly#obviously represents mike in some way#it was drowning in a glass which was given to him complimentary. something about struggling to feel like he belongs in his life?#like it was something given to him that he does not deserve and does not make him happy#his relationship with his wife is obviously strained. his son is mentioned so far only in relation to his career#though his mother says he's always welcome the framing in the kitchen is claustrophobic#either only one of their faces is in camera very close or they're clustered together in one half of the kitchen#his mother is a foster parent or a teacher of some kind. possibly trying to fill the void made empty#by what she views is the disappearance of both her sons#though mike said his father was out of the picture he seems shocked his mother doesn't have pictures of him around#probably not dead but has left and mike blames her somehow and views his father as blameless#when his brother disappeared mike also lost a mother. and his mother lost both her sons#their dialogue is very. distant and impersonal. no questions about each others' lives. no questions about his wife and son.#and mike seems to struggle with children despite being a child psychologist. in both times we've seen him he's been overly friendly#and strained. in the dream sequence we see him snap at the child to turn the tv off#which is more evidence to the idea mike feels he doesn't belong in his career#he may also be experiencing some kind of depersonalization of others (the mannequins behind the cameras)#possibly believing his actions to ultimately not matter because those there to witness them are not truly people#hope to see what kind of relationships he DOES form or if his sense of relationships has been completely tarnished by his brother's death#subconsciously he fears his childhood home. he possibly knows something about the disappearance of his brother#who he also talks about more as an extension of himself rather than as a seperate entity#so far no puppets. sad!#back to the framing in the kitchen. i think mike views his relationship to his mother as one which is forced#it lacks closeness but they are forced to be part of each others' lives due to the genetic bond between them#his mother fears mike is back to prod at the old wound which is the murders#it seems she's trying to cope by distancing herself and keeping her mind busy with raising children#it's notable the girl calls her miss rather than mom. more distance despite objective closeness#mike may also become jealous of the girl. he seems like he has a strange relationship with the children in his life

"you are not immune to propaganda/cult indoctrination" is largely useful and the sort of shit it's used to point out as not making you immune (being "smart" or a certain degree of educated, etc) is worth pointing out and it never feels like the appropriate place to mention it, but a lot of people seem to be conflating "the things people think make them immune to this kind of thing doesn't because it doesn't work that way" along with "the same conditions that make people more vulnerable to indoctrination/conspiritorial thinking/etc can happen to anyone" with "everyone in the world is equally vulnerable to every kind of indoctrination under the same conditions" and i just don't think that's objectively true.
It may be true that someone started out holding one belief and flipped to hold the apparently opposite belief, but does that actually mean everyone who holds that belief is equally liable to change their mind? Why did they hold that belief in the first place? Is it consistent with their values and what they care about more broadly, and do they specically go out of their way to combat the potential for misinformation and propaganda? Are they prone to making their decisions based on what the people around or closest to them think instead of thinking for themselves? To what extent do they base their values and decsions on kneejerk emotional reactions? (these aren't the only factors obviously, just examples of other potential contributing factors) It is not a given that everyone will answer these questions in the same way, and this is part of why different people respond differently in similar situations. Also not everyone will respond positively to techniques that often work to draw people in (eg lovebombing is a common tactic that works on a lot of people, but may be actively offputting or ring alarm bells for others; different people have different tolerances for attempts at social control and some might nope out the moment they see it attempted regardless of any other factors).
"You Yes Even You" can be an important tactic to get people who wouldn't otherwise to legitimately consider why these tactics work on people and what might work on them and keep in mind that the people it Does happen to usually aren't aware of it and it's not always their fault the way it's often presented, but that is not objectively the same thing as "anyone can fall down any pipeline not matter what forever"
like maybe no one is literally "immune to propaganda" but if a type of propoganda is something that necessarily hinges on X mechanism and a person is notorious for both intellectually and instinctively being violently opposed to X. then yeah I think the propoganda that hinges on X is probably going to be a Very Difficult to Impossible sell, even potentially under coercion, especially if that person has already demonstrated that they are willing to put themeslves at risk/resist that kind of coercion about it. unless your argument is that there is scp level literal mind control happening.
#a lot of people talk about how they were initially conservative because they grew up surrounded by and being taught that#and it's true that there are circumstances like that that can make it less likely for people to initially form different opinions/etc#i'm not saying that it inherently happens because people are fundamentally less intelligent or whatever#but it's also true that there are people who decide to question that sort of thing from an early age and without outside intervention#maybe they noticed holes in the logic and 'care more about being right than being happy'#maybe they decided truth/accurate information was important enough they were going to fact check Everything to be sure#maybe they didn't appreciate being expected to trust/agree blindly with whatever they were told#and that would be the case regardless of who said it or what they were saying#this doesn't mean they're 'smarter' but i do think there are factors/personal values/personal reactions even#that can make you less succeptible to certain things. for example if you're fundamentally opposed to the sort of#social control cults use (not just because you intellectually recognise that it's important/moral standards. i don't want to#really get into 'force of will/resolution' arguments here because that's not really what i'm trying to point out#and people might take that as being like. inherently 'better' or something) but because#say you're violently repulsed by the concept like on an instinctive visceral level and have a track record of noping out#the second you see anything resembling them (maybe even to your detriment in certain situations/false alarms/etc.#again i'm not trying to make the argument of people having like. a uniquely accurate and foolproof Cult Radar superpower)#then yeah i don't know if 'immune' is the word i'd use but i'd think you're probably way less likely to stick around if it's#a deal breaker no matter what for you. or if you have that response to a common tactic to be drawn in by that specific tactic#than someone without that viceral response would be even under extremely comparable circumstances.#like people can and do cut off people they're very close to or put themselves in danger for similar reasons (or for less tbh)#because different people are different and respond differently to things and have natural strengths and weaknesses and#personality traits and like. variation in general. that may make various tactics more or less likely to work on them.#it's not a matter of being 'smarter' or generally 'better' and there are a variety of differenft factors involved#(so someone could be resistant to a certain tactic but uniquely sicceptible to another) but like.#it's a thing that can probably happen i think. no experience is universal#mypost#this is just a pet peeve rip. can you tell this has been building for a while.

tagged by @nebylitsa - Nine of my favourite books (well, 13 really since I included two trilogies in omnibus form), in no particular order.
tagging: @skeleton-richard, @oldshrewsburyian, @shredsandpatches @themalhambird @ardenrosegarden @themidnightcircusshow No pressure if you don't want to though!
#i decided not to include non-fiction to make it easier#alexis wright is like scary genius level of author. i don't always understand what's happening but plains of promise's endings got me hard.#lotr is like hugely formative so of course its there#regeneration trilogy made me insane. it's so. so. so. good. i feel if you liked the terror you'd like it#the folding star also made me insane though i don't rec it unreservedly because of the subject matter (it's been called a gay lolita)#the natural way of things... absolutely shattering. very sensitive subject matter & some things that could have been handled better#runemarks is a hilariously funny sort of... dystopic fantasy novel that draws on norse mythology (it's said to be YA but eh)#(i liked this better that harris's gospel/testament of loki novels)#the daylight gate is fantastically written horror novel based on the pendle hill witch trial. not for the faint hearted#sir! gawain! and! the! green! knight! i picked this cover because i loved the design best and it was the first translation i read.#i love sarah moss's writing so damn much - i think this is my favourite of hers but i also love 'cold earth'#there would be so many runner ups#text posts

i love when i make a placeholder guess about a Real Life Thing while writing a fic and later when i go to look it up my guess was actually correct
#weeks ago in a wip i'd said it'd be about 2 hours btwn point A and point B and. when i just now looked it up... its literally 2 hrs 3 min#and in this same wip i had ALSO managed to accurately guess which day of the week the numerical dates i was using lined up with in#the year it's set in. like in terms of me forming my timeline the numerical dates were what mattered—bc a plot point coinciding#with the anniversary of something from the canon is relevant—the days of the week less so. i had just been like 'ah i'll look at a#calendar and adjust these later' and well. when i looked. i happened to be right for that year SOMEHOW#grandpa max is god? i go to church now

CJ literally called Ed a slur multiple times on-screen to his face, so if you're really going to get upset at BIPOC for feeling vindicated that the white man who's still alive is actually learning to treat Ed like a person, but you don't say shit to ppl who are casual CJ enjoyers about his racism and how he has not unlearned a single lick of it because he died instead, you can actually fuck all the way off.
#Void Rambles#I'm not over here waxing poetic about the rat man#insulting him is literally how I enjoy his character#I want him to get up to so many situations#can y'all literally shut up about it#unlearning racism doesn't always mean saying the words “racist” or “dehumanizing” about the things that have been said or done#it also looks like “I wasn't treating you like a whole person here is what I'm doing to change that”#and being racist in the passed does not negate the importance of denouncing said racism in the present#no matter what that unlearning process looks like it still needs to start SOMEWHERE#fandom crit#izzy hands#I'm literally getting so tired of this#I'm not allowed to have my own fucking feelings about Izzy bc some asshole has to come tell me anonymously#that I'm somehow perpetuating some mysterious form of racism just by not agreeing with them#fuck off with that thought and tone police bullshit#1312 kill the cop in your head#maybe you'll get over how badly you want us to kill the positive or negative aspects of Izzy in ours

Bwoahh thank you for the lore. It’s really interesting to see the spectrum of views towards humans. Their feelings are so different yet they’re so similar (like night and day lmao) . Rip Goddess of Earth for having to deal with those two for a millennia. Love to hear more about these two <3
— Penalanon
Aaaaaahh yes!!! That's my main intention with my god ocs tbh. Two things: what is their view towards humans(A), and what governing style do they believe is most effective(B)? And I guess also to an extent, how do they feel about interplanetary relations, but that's a bit too meta 😭 I just think Luna and Sola are an interesting case study because they're so uninvolved compared to all the others. But yeah 😭 they are so similar, but ofc they'll never see it. I like to think they're both fascinated but one is like this 😍 and the other is like this 😟
But here I will give you the thoughts of some other gods regarding the two things I mentioned earlier, bcs I think it's a fun thing to play with. At some point I'll have to make a chart like the political compass one about this lol.
Earth(Eden)
A: They're creatures of the land with their own autonomy and goals
B: I will not interfere, it is also my duty to observe and come in only when really, truly needed(read: never.)
Saturn(Sabah):
A: They're like toys I can play with and manipulate.
B: Proxy wars are fun! I love anarchy and chaos! I will play to each side at will, and switch whenever it gets boring.
Neptune(Nikola):
A: They're my citizens whom I govern and watch over. I love to see their creations, its interesting to see what they come up with!
B: I am like a monarch, I can carry out my will through the people if need be but I don't micromanage them.
Uranus(Ustinya)
A: They are like my children, even if I don't understand them all the time, I still care for them and watch over them.
B: I am like a figurehead and advisor. I won't get involved too much unnecessarily, but I am honored they look to me for guidance, advice and encouragement.
There's others but these are the ones that came to mind first so :D I feel like most of them are pretty rational...and then there's Sabah 😭 I need to make more of them a bit evil I think
#theres so much meta 😭😭 that i domt even know if i wanna get into it#but i guess i like viewing them somewhat as political leaders#or in the view of politics#bcs that is what im into :)#also theyre like typical omniscient and omnipresent gods#but usually tend to have a human form in one place#people can pray to them and they might help them. depending on their ruling style#but they can also go in person#the prayer stuff is more like. pregnancy and personal matters#and going in person is more political kind of things#also there could be so much said about how they view each other#a lot dont like Eden bcs they see her as irresponsible and negligent#and she sees them as cruel overlords who over reach severely#and of course everyone just hates sabah#cause they cant rly interfere but have to watch from afar like wth is going on over there#poor Ustinya having Saturn right next to her :( considering her views#she might be my favorite dhfjgk#i love her bcs shes super cold and distant seeming like very serious and above it all#but she truly loves them just doesnt understand human things no matter how much she tries#ANYWAYS#lore stuff yeah :)#oh yeah also dw about how the other planets are habitable dhfjkgkg#they just are.#its mostly by virtue of the gods bodies being the celestial bodies#so they make it work ykno#functionally they're all just earth tbh. maybe just variances in size#i think they probably can portray things a certain way to the people like ooo heres how space works btw#<- like our science but in reality its actually just above human limits of understanding#also all the moons are helpers :) and have their own stuff going on#catie.asks.

I like him a normal amount (lying) (Patreon)
#Doodles#SCII#Helix#Max Vyer#Dexter Favin#Was I about to type ''Helix Mainfic'' in reference to these wh - I mean Technically but???#Anyway lol#Couple'a random Max's to start <3 Love him#So some of these were made with my .5 and some with my .3 - can you guess which ones? :3#The first one and the last two (and of me lol) were my .5 - the inner three are .3 ♪#You know it's gotten bad when it's not even an Idea necessarily just Want To Draw Pretty - I'm familiar with that pft#He's pretty tho! Love Max ♥#Man if Max's snap had come in the form of Fight rather than Flight - he's a twig but I doubt Anyone would've come out of that unscathed#Anger can make a monster out of almost anybody haha#Pretty boy ♥ My .3 is so fun for soft detailing! And Max is pretty much all soft details lol#Cryings ah </3 Dexter's mention of Max's emotions in his meetup with ZEX got me thinking!#Sadness really does trend low on the emotions he's willing to express in company - even when Dex has seen him cry before - like here#It was out of anger so much more than sadness - no wonder he was spooked by ZEX's sudden grief! Max is fairly private with sadness#Or at least he turns it into anger if he's backed into a corner - drinking by himself and making things harder for everyone else haha#And finally his and Dex's difference in the retelling of the story!! Hehe ♪♫#Since I first read Helix I've been under the impression that what Max told Katherine was - well - how he described it lol#A kind of self-deprecating joke at his own expense - thus his confusion at her reaction of seeming hurt#But that's not what he said at all! That's not even close to how he told it!! Hahaha ♪ Biased narration <3#I even got a second opinion and we shared the same interpretation so it wasn't just a matter of failing to pick up his meaning hehehe Max!#He's so rude ♥ Terrible man ♪ He's the worst <3
